Opening Sequences and Settings - Introduction

Alongside introducing characters being a key purpose of opening sequences, I’ve also noticed that often in opening sequences the setting is introduced to the audience, where the setting is the particular focus of the scene. I have therefore decided to have a closer look at two films from different genres to see how films introduce and present the setting in their opening sequences, in case I decide to do this in my opening sequence.

The films I’m going to be looking at are:

'The Zone Of Interest' (war genre)

'Divergent' (science fiction genre)
